The name gives you a hint what we are discovering today: A pure gin. The pure gin to be precise. Created by the Brennerei Hubertus Vallendar in Kail near the Mosel river. Pure as in pure juniper?

Tasting
Nose
Hello pure juniper! The first careful nose is like a trip to classic gin heaven. If you are looking for a gin with really all the things gin is about, this is what I'd define it as. Juniper, lots of juniper and a nice load of citrus. A cardamom hint and some sweeter earthiness.
Palate
Tasted neat the pure gin is a really nice mix of earthy and spicy flavours. Juniper is the opener and present all the way. a sweetness and a rich body follows the spice and is accompanied by some orange/citrus flavour as well. A nicely balanced and rich taste profile. Unlike a cheap and cheese product this one really goes a long way. The gin comes at 40 % ABV and is not too strong by alcohol levels and does not bring a biting touch or anything anoying to the tasting experience.
Aftertaste
A long aftertaste with spicy twists staying with you for a long while. But it is not a flat one but has higher notes, fresh and lasting as well.
Perfect serve
Come back as usual to find out more about the perfect serve which I will be filling in later on. But one thing to start is the 1724 tonic water. Add lots of ice as well to enjoy it nice and chilled.
Summary and GinGinGin rating
There are more gins in my collection from this distillery: The Harry's Waldgin and the Brombyrina Silkgin. Both of them are really nice products I have to admit. And the pure gin does not fall short compared to those two. The name is simple and well chosen. It fits this gin perfectly. No frills just pure juniper goodness. For that reason it deserves a front row spot on the shelf.
The GinGinGin transparency declaration
This gin was a free sample by the producer in order for us to review the bottle. There are and were no obligations nor any edits of this content by the producers.
